Social events

Monday evening 12 September 2022, the Mayor of Aarhus Jacob Bundsgaard will host a welcome reception at Aarhus City Hall. This evening is an opportunity to meet and network with other conference participants. The welcome reception is free, and registration is available upon registration for the conference. Please note that this event has a limit of 400 participants.

Monday evening programme:
17.30 - Arrival and networkning with snacks and refreshments
17.45 - Welcome by Mayor Jacob Bundsgaard
18.30 - End of the welcome reception

About Aarhus City Hall:
The City Hall was designed by the renowed Danish architects Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller and built between 1938 and 1941. The City Hall is described as a major work in Danish modernism. The characteristic City Hall Tower with the big clock is 60 meters tall and houses 48 bells that chime every day. The exterior of the City Hall is clad in Norwegian marble and the inventory and furniture inside is from the 1930s and primarily designed specifically for the Aarhus City Hall by the Danish furniture architect Hans J. Wegner - even door handles and key holes are designed specifically for the City Hall.

The City Hall houses the 31-member City Council and is also used for public events such as concerts, weddings, receptions, and exhibitions.

Social dinner

Tuesday evening 13 September 2022 a social dinner will be held at Centralvaerkstedet. Registration for this event can be made upon conference registration. Please note that there is a limited number of seats. Small changes to this event may occur.

About Centralværkstedet:
Located in the center of Aarhus, right next to the main station, is Centralværkstedet. With its 16.000 m², a beautiful setting, and an incredible history, Centralværkstedet gives the best opportunities for a great evening in the company of colleagues from all over the world. Originally Centralværkstedet served as the main workshop for the national danish railway services (DSB), which resonates in the premises of today and gives the venue a very urban and raw – yet very charming -atmosphere.

Centralværkstedet was built in 1862, imploying 1850 people at its highest in 1949. The place was partly in function as a workshop until 2009, where it was finally shut down. Today Centralværkstedet is owned by Comwell, and hosts everything from concerts to weddings.
